About JEC

The Junior European Cup (JEC) is an important event to the juniors for evaluating their performances with their peers in orienteering competitions. Normally, JEC is taking place in the fall.
The „JEC“ countries rotate the organization among themselves. The sequence is determined as follows: 2013 France, 2014 Belgium, 2015 Germany, 2016 Great Britain, 2017 Austria, 2018 Switzerland. It is possible to interchange the years of organization between the countries.
JEC should remain an attractive athletic event. It should offer low cost accommodation and food and should take into account the low impact on the environmental ecology.

The Organizer

For this year's JEC the German Orienteering Federation appointed MTK Bad Harzburg to host the event in the Harz mountains in conjunction with the German Championships. MTK Bad Harzburg is very experienced in organizing big competitions, with the World Masters Orienteering Championships (WMOC) 2012 as a highlight.
